Rootastes’ Chefs’ Curated Recipes
Red is the color of love (which we have for all of our customers!), and it’s also the palette of this week’s produce.
Candy cane beets star in Candy Cane Beet Salad with Blue Cheese & Bacon, which also calls for red onions and red leaf lettuce.
For a more royal hue, Rootastes Summer Roasted Eggplant calls for the purply Italian Striped Eggplant alongside tomatoes, seasoning, and cheese. We call that amore!
And taking things a tone brighter, orange cantaloupe is ripe and juicy this time of year, and this refreshing recipe lets you enjoy it in two ways. Whip it up in a smoothie or freeze and enjoy as a sorbet. Waku Lemon Mint tea and honey adds to the cantaloupe flavor, and you can even pour some vodka into the sorbet for an elevated dessert.
Is adding cheese the only way you can get your kids to eat broccoli? Try a variation on the classic pairing with Garlicky Roasted Broccoli with Parmigiano-Reggiano. While it may not be covered in globs of cheddar, the garlic and cheese in this recipe still makes it tasty.
